food, family and sunshine! (part three- the rest of the weekend)

The festivities really don't stop after Canada Day. Saturday morning my mom put on a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" spread on the patio.

Eggs, baked oatmeal, bacon, Canadian Maple Syrup Sausages, croissant, toast, juices and coffee (there was more food on the "bar" which is now a permanent fixture on the deck, soon to be painted to match).

I've been wanting to make these ever since seeing this picture. They were way too much fun! The key- use a paring knife to cut a slit in the rind first.

After the last of the goodbyes were said Billy and I hoped in the car for a day in Toronto (I had to work and Billy shopped- how fair is that!). Dinner was leftovers and the evening was movies. So relaxing!

We woke up and demanded only fruit for breakfast! Two days of eating really takes its toll! Approrpirately we doned our bathingsuits, sucked our food bellies in and hit the beach. I smiled the whole way because Billy and I biked to the beach on my parent's vintage bikes. I rolled our towels into the basket on mine.

We stopped for strawberry, Mango, Banana Frozen Yogurt.

Surprisingly, we were very hungry for lunch! BBQ'd lunch to be exact. So Billy wipped up some ground chicken burgers and some BBQ garlic butter corn while I prepped a macaroni salad and a crabberry/orange fizzy drink. Another meal on the sunny patio.

I miss the weekend!
