2 years

Billy and I celebrated our two year anniversary on Saturday. We don't like to put a lot of pressure on these kinds of days so we played it by ear. After discussing some possible activities we decided on a "tour of Ottawa" where we would go to all our favourite neighborhoods to pick up an item to make up our dinner.

Stop One: The Byward Market for chocolate

We discovered this very cute chocolate shop that just opened. We picked up a dark chocolate and hazelnut bar and a mocha chocolate gelato cup to sustain us until lunch.

Stop Two: The Byward Market for bread

I love this bakery! The bread wasn't the best we'd ever had, but the service was great and the baguette we picked was hand rolled.

Stop Three: Westboro for fresh pasta sheets and fancy tomatoes

Parma Ravioli is a great little italian shop with tons of pasta to choose from! They looked at us strangely when we said we just wanted the pasta sheets to make our own!

Stop Four: Little Italy for cheese, sausage and lunch!

It wouldn't be a celebration of our relationship without a spicy Italian sandwich!

Stop Four: Elgin Street for a sunflower

It's a tradition!

Stop Five: The best LCBO on Rideau and King Edward street for some wine from Niagara.

Stop Six: New Edinbourough for dessert

We had never been to the bakery across the street from our apartment. They make all their own desserts. I picked out a mini cake that would fit perfectly on my new mini cake plate!

I love this plate. We found it at the flower shop for only $12! I couldn't resist.

The result of our tour!

And now for the fun part! I whipped up a goat cheese, spinach and sundried tomato filling. It was really easy and fun! Billy added a slice of spicy sausage to his. He also made a simple tomato sauce with our expensive tomatoes!

We had our baguette with an herbed olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce.

The pasta turned out perfectly.

We polished off dessert and enjoyed a bit of our chocolate afterward. On the cake plate of course!

Our tour didn't end! After dinner we went out to a few nice places for a cocktail.

A wonderful day spent with an amazing guy! Thanks Billy!

Emilie
