Weekending in Montreal

Note to self- find out when the fashion seasons change over and when the end of season sales occur. Montreal was a bit of a bust for shopping this past weekend. It was hot and for as far as the eye can see there were sweaters and pants for sale.

Don't get me wrong I love fall and winter fashion. I can't wait for the cool breeze of autume hitting my fashionably warm outfits of boots and scarves. But to wear those ensebles during an August humidity-wave is not my idea of fun. So I picked up a few things and focused on enjoying Montreal instead!

Our first stop was a Bixi Bike station. For $5 we had 24 hours of bike usage!

We rode to the eastern part of downtown to check out the "street art" at the Spray Painting Competition.

We found a cute city center garden. It was the perfect juxtaposition of urban surroundings and tranquil greenery.

On our way to dinner we took the scenic route along the water. I love this old flour factory (soon to be condos!).

Dinner was at a wonderful little Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant called Lola Rosa. It was the quintessential Montreal café. Great service, wonderful setting, amazing food and lovely company!

Each table was an old desk with drawers filled with notes from past guests.

I fell in love with this little bookstore down the street.

  1. Bike stations are probably one of the best inventions ever. You can have so much fun with a bike for a really small amount of cash.
