4 italian stores in one day?

It's becoming a tradition for the BF and I to hop in the car and drive around our lovely city picking up ingredients for a meal. We both confessed that were were having "a lot of fun" almost like it's odd for people to do what we do!

Our first stop was little Italy because we had our hearts set on pizza for dinner.

We picked up mozzarella cheese and hot salami at a little deli. Then we picked up some fancy san marzano tomatoes from a pasta store. We got pretty hungry by that time so we went to our hands down favourite sandwich place- Di Rienzo's.

It doesn't look like much, but the line ups are huge for these huge $5 Italian sandwiches!

Our favourite buy is the Alexi- Italian bun, capicolo, spicy salami, prosciutto, spicy havarti, spicy eggplant, lettuce, tomato, dijon and the best part: hot oil! YUM! I think I've blogged about this sandwich 2 times already. I have a problem.

Store number four was an italian restaurant near our house for 2 pizza doughs.

The finished product:

Cheese, hot salami, hot pepper mix, spinach, mushrooms and fresh basil. SO GOOD!

Gotta have dessert! These Skinny Cow frozen desserts that I swear taste like full fat ice cream but are only 100 calories and made with skim milk!

Do you ever spend the day buying food for a meal?
