oh so good BBQ'd fried chicken

We had a bit of a feast on Sunday night to end off a successful yet indulgent weekend (there was a lot of chocolate, wine and other tasty treats enjoyed throughout the weekend).

We started things off with a multi grain sourdough bread with decadent butter.

The BF had a fried chicken craving so he slaved away perfectly breading these bone-in with skin chicken thighs (there's the indulgent part, we never have chicken skin, boy was it tasty!). He cooked the thighs to crispy perfection on the BBQ.

I made a red cabbage and carrot slaw with an asian dressing to go along side.

Dressing: 2 tbsp rice wine vinaiger, 1 tbsp olive oil, dash of sesame seed oil, salt/pepper to taste, 1 1/2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp dijon mustard, sprinkling of sesame seeds
YUM!

It's nice to enjoy some decadence every now and again!

  1. Yum! I've only made fried chicken once, and it seemed to take for-ev-er. My husband claimed that it was the best fried chicken he'd ever had, but by the time I was done preparing it, it didn't even taste that great to me. I guess food just tastes better to me when someone else makes it :)

  2. That slaw looks fantastic! I pinned it to my recipe board to try soon.
